"St. Dominic High School Appalachian Project" for Our Lady's
Inn-St. Charles.
The
students of St. Dominic High School in St. Charles chose Our
Lady's Inn for their June 2006 Appalachian Project. St. Dominic's
students, parents and staff completed several woodworking
projects, valued at $16,000. Their labor of love, combined with
anonymous donations of lumber and supplies from other caring
sources, blessed the families and staff of Our Lady's Inn-St.
Charles.
Volunteer
projects, such as those by Eagle Scout Troop # 351 and St. Dominic
High School's Appalachian Project highlighted here, make the
surroundings more pleasant, more welcoming, and more comforting.
Stop in and see for yourself when you come for a visit and a tour.

Eagle
Scout Troop # 351 Project
Jake
Pelikan and Kyle Barteau, members of Boy Scout Troop 351 at St.
Cletus Parish in St. Charles, stand in front of a statue of the
Blessed Virgin they helped to erect on the grounds of Our Lady’s
Inn in St. Charles County. Jake repaired and refurbished the
400-pound statue and installed it with the assistance of several
fellow troop members. Kyle designed and planned the landscaping
surrounding the statue, also with the help of several troop
members. The efforts were part of an Eagle Scout project. Our
Lady’s Inn of St. Charles will have a blessing and
dedication of the statue 10 a.m. Saturday, July 14, at 3607
Highway D. in Defiance. Father James J. Benz, pastor of St.
Cletus, will preside at the dedication and blessing. An open house
will follow. From an article by Kevin McCarty in the St. Louis Review June 29, 2007
